Department of Psychology and Counselling
The Department of Psychology and Counselling is a vibrant and dynamic hub of learning, research, and community engagement. Our mission is to foster understanding of human behaviour, mental processes, psychological well-being, and to translate this knowledge into effective strategies for promoting mental health and improving the human condition.
Our department members are experts in various areas of psychology, including clinical psychology, counselling, developmental psychology, social psychology, cognitive psychology, neuroscience, and industrial-organizational psychology. They are actively engaged in research and at the same time, they are dedicated teachers and mentors who are committed to provide high-quality counselling and training to our clients.
We are committed to serve the broader community. Our department team provide psychological services to individuals, families, and organizations through our community clinics, outreach programs, and partnerships with local schools, hospitals, and social service agencies. We believe that by sharing our knowledge and expertise with the community, we can help to promote mental health and wellbeing, reduce stigma and discrimination, to create a more equitable society.
